Tune low, play heavy, shred, dig in, bleed. if you’re not into this, this guitar is NOT for you.
Building guitars is a weird art. You start off with an idea and start building but there comes a point as the guitar is being formed that it begins to tell you who it wants to be and at that point you can either go with it or fight against it which usually ends up disastrous. I actually finished the body over a year ago but never go back to finishing it. I’m not sure if that year or so of neglect caused this guitar to become so aggressive but whatever the voodoo, it did. Even building this guitar was a struggle it fought me almost every step of the way. In the end it was only appropriate to carve the serial number ”13” into it.
I decided to pour the epoxy strip in after the body was already carved which required tremendous creativity to actually get it to pour right.. When it came time for paint I just got the feeling that this guitar needed to be flat black. No frills, no thrills, just straight up heavy fucking metal black, I’m sure this was some kind of subconscious luthier 6th sense because when I finally finished this guitar I knew it needed heavy gauge strings and to be tuned C#. The first few “chugs” running through Neural DSP’s Granophyre app was abrasive, addicting, brutal and assaulting. I laughed out loud (lol’d) and said out loud (This Tone is fuckin’ evil). You just can’t stop chugging away.
Let’s get one ting straight, this is a METAL guitar. When you pick it up, it demands you play metal, don’t even think about trying any low gain shit with this bastard. and also tuning to standard is not recommended. Whether you believe in voodoo or black magic or not, there is something peculiar and special about this guitar. Is is blessed? Hell no! Is it cursed? Only time will tell. the only remains question is will this guitar deem you worthy?
